SUMMARY Freeman is seeking an experienced Floor Planner who will generates accurate and detailed floor plans for expositions and events, working directly with sales staffs, clients, foremen and facility management. Additional responsibilities include: Creates floor plans for expositions, starting with manipulating an existing maximum space layout and adding booth information, such as booth number, booth dimensions and exhibitor name. Calculates square footage and booth statistics. Prepares various prints or files for a variety of needs, such as plans for Fire Marshall approval, plans for floor marking and files for print materials. Updates floor plans as booth spaces are sold. Organizes computer files and floor plan prints to ensure that current versions are available. Creates layouts of meeting rooms and other decorated areas of a facility. Works with Sales staffs and clients to develop floor plans that maximize available exhibit space. Maintains knowledge of Design department software programs and can incorporate them into floor plan drafting. Becomes extensively familiar with local facilities, fire codes, and building restrictions. Updates and maintains the accuracy of local facilities' building shells and shares this information with all Freeman offices. Assists customers in space draw operations on site or online. Prepares move in and move out target plans. Distributes final blueprints to production, show management, sales and facilities managers. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Drafting or Computer aided Drawing (CAD) from a trade school. Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010 or newer. Ability to meet deadlines and work accurately with minimal error. Familiarity with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with sales staffs, clients and/or facility management. Ability to manipulate booth layouts to maximize exhibit space or meet customer's specific needs. Experience developing ways to more effectively use the software programs involved in drafting floor plans and communicating with customers.
