Overview The Associate CMO assists the CMO in his or her responsibilities and act as CMO in his/her absence. The Associate CMO will continue to have client care clinical responsibilities. The Associate Chief Medical Officer is charged with upholding the ICL mission of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, integrated and person-centered care across the ACT teams, mental health clinics, PROS program, and shelter-based and school-based care. The ACMO also participates in developing integrated care with ICL's primary care partner, the Community Healthcare Network, which involves supporting the CHN/ ICL nurse practitioner fellowship program. Responsibilities Assists CMO with agency-wide responsibilities such as serving on committees Supervises agency prescribers as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer (physicians, NPs) Provides psychiatric services to clients in accordance with clinical policies and procedures on a regularly assigned schedule. Performs all job responsibilities described in the position description for psychiatrist. Provides comprehensive examination and diagnosis of clients at an assigned program. Proposes policies on care issues and conducts chart audits to assure compliance. Assures that staff supervisees adhere to policies and procedures in the delivery of care. Works with the corporate office to ensure new staff are trained and oriented. Participates in monthly clinical staff meetings, providers meetings, and other meetings as assigned Oversees the chart audit process and maintains a peer review process Oversees any agency clinical research. Participates in continuing education and maintains credentials. Participates in committees and conducts other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications License to practice medicine in New York State and current registration. Continued employment is based on the ability to maintain professional licensure, current registration and participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs Board certified in psychiatry OR child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or by a foreign board clearly equivalent Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Possession of current Controlled Substances Registration certificate from the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
