As a Nurse Assistant you will assist patients in obtaining the maximum level of independence in activities of daily living. You will perform direct/indirect nursing procedures and technical/ laboratory activities as appropriate and in accordance with the operating policies and procedures.
+ Administers nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
+ Gives hygienic care to patients assigned and oversees/assists with activities of daily living; performs assigned treatments and procedures.
+ Takes vital signs of patients assigned and reports values to the nurse in charge.
+ Reports observations and unusual conditions of patients to the Registered Nurse.
+ Prepares patients for meals and helps feed them as assigned.
+ Observes patients requiring increased security to prevent harmful behavior.
+ Follows principles of infection control and patient safety.
+ Assists patient to wheelchair or stretcher.
+ Transports patients using wheelchairs or stretchers, as directed.
+ Collects required specimens as directed; e.g., urine, feces, sputum.
+ Maintains the environment of patients.
+ Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment in patient's room.
+ Participates in ensuring that work areas are clean.
+ Replenishes supplies as necessary.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
+ Successful completion of a Nurse Assistant Program.
+ Minimum of one (1) year work experience.
