Pump up your Career and Grow with a Leader in the Industry NYC Pumps has an exciting opportunity for a Service/Shop Manager to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. The Service Manager supervises, coordinates and participates in all service center shop and field service activities. Promotes a positive work environment and continuously strives to improve processes. The incumbent will ensure appropriate delegation so that all orders are fulfilled on time and equipment is maintained, serviced and repaired according to company standards. Responsibilities: Schedules technicians for small to large projects with tactical skills to continuously adjust and adapt scheduling to changing needs. Continually updates the Infor system data build/entry, invoicing, ordering equipment Coordinate and dispatch service trucks and drivers. Oversees the timely completion and accuracy of work orders to assure necessary parts are received accurately, timely and in accordance with inventory controls. Account for labor hours. Interprets job orders, field service requests and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Responds and resolves to customer problems and inquiries. Maintains required stock of pumps, parts, fittings, pipe and related material on the service truck. Performs duties in a professional manner and works well with others or in a team setting. Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public. Observes safe work practices and safety methods; performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college, technical school, trade school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Knowledge in pumps, HVAC, or automotive background preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Previous experience with MR or MRP \"materials requirement planning\" software and or accounting software packages such as Infor Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have a valid driver's license. Candidates must pass background and drug test.
