Department: Corporate Partnerships Division: Finance and Administration Location: Brooklyn, NY Reports To: Managing Director, Corporate Partnerships & Strategic Engagement ABOUT STORYCORPS StoryCorps' mission is to preserve and share humanity's stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world. Since our founding in 2003, StoryCorps has provided half a million of people of all backgrounds and beliefs with powerful opportunities to record interviews about their lives, and leave a legacy for future generations in our archive at the Library of Congress. We bring these interviews to life in stories produced for broadcast on public media (including our weekly Friday morning broadcast on NPR's \"Morning Edition\"), our podcast, and/or our animations. Together, these stories reach an audience of tens of millions. StoryCorps maintains a relentless focus on diversity, and seeks to highlight voices often underrepresented in mainstream media. THE ROLE StoryCorps' Corporate Partnerships Department is responsible for significantly growing corporate revenue through sponsorship, grants, earned income services, matching gifts, and in-kind donations, to support StoryCorps' core programs. The Manager plays an important role in StoryCorps' efforts to build and sustain income from the corporate sector. As the manager, you will develop and maintain relationships with external corporate partners, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of sponsorship and custom services deliverables. StoryCorps records, shares, and preserves stories from a diverse range of American voices from our Griot Initiative to preserve stories of African Americans, to our Historias Initiative to collect the experiences of Latinos. We also seek to recruit and develop a staff whose diversity matches the diversity of the communities we serve, and we strongly encourage applications from people of color and the LGBTQ community. WHAT YOU'LL DO Support the Director of Corporate Partnerships in tracking and meeting annual corporate revenue goals Write and edit proposals, reports, and other correspondence, as assigned Conduct prospect research as assigned and identify new potential sponsors for StoryCorps and its various initiatives Liaise with corporate clients and internal departments to manage sponsorship and custom services deliverables, such as tracking sponsor recognition related to StoryCorps' annual Great Thanksgiving Listen campaign and overseeing the execution of custom recording and production projects Work with the Marketing & Communications department to aid in improving and expanding the team's digital and in-person marketing efforts Ensure the satisfaction of external clients, working promptly and resourcefully to resolve any issues, and maintain relationships with past clients Respond to web and phone inquiries from corporations, as needed Input and track data in the department's customer relationship management database (Salesforce) Perform other duties to support the Corporate Partnerships department, as assigned ABOUT YOU You have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience You also have 4 years minimum experience in nonprofit development, sales and marketing, corporate social responsibility, project management, or similarly related field You are computer savvy, especially with Microsoft Office, Google applications and video conferencing software. You know how to communicate effectively whether that's by email, phone or in person You are no stranger to providing excellent customer service and you've worked in a public facing role in the past. You have strong problem-solving skills You are able to self-direct in completing work You're organized, have a keen attention to detail, and you're able to multi-task effectively You are flexible and adaptable to a growing, changing organization You have cultural competence and the ability to thrive in a diverse work environment PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS You are proficient on Mac platforms and with relationship management database software You are fluent in a language other than English (Spanish preferred) Applications without a cover letter will not be considered for candidacy.
