The Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the tech after school program Monday -Friday 1-7pm, with one to two Saturday/Sunday's per month required. TechExplorersBK is a interactive learning space where the emphasis is on creative expression with technology. Our program offers workshops in game design, robotics, coding, animation and more!.
The position requires administration of personnel, learning and recruitment activities, organization and maintenance of the center, and general program operation. The successful candidate will be able to organize staff to make the space an inviting and fun experience for kids. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will serve as the front desk person interacting with potential customers. This individual will possess high energy and enthusiasm, have a passion and commitment for working with kids (theatre background), highly organized, and be willing to pitch the program effectively to children and their families.

Ensures TechExplorersBK policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, dress code, cell phone use, and emergencies.
Maintain an inviting, clean, safe and fun environment. Scheduling and posting rotation of inventory and cleaning schedules
In consultation with administration, program staff, and students, provide day-to-day oversight of programs and after-school staff
Facilitate potential customer visits
Acquire, coordinate, organize and document program equipment, materials, facilities, nutrition needs on site and off site events. Maintaining documents to reflect coordination.
Develop document and post schedules of workshop programming and staff.
Schedule and Document Afterschool pickups
Provide and Maintain weekly updates to Administration
Manage the registration data and payments from our online system weekly
Maintain a clear and consistent line of communication with program staff and parents
Develop and document a plan with specific timeframes to maintain website
Work with staff to maintain website weekly
Work with staff to develop copy and send out weekly email campaigns
Work with instructors to provide weekly written student progress reports to parents
Coordinate all logistical planning for site and off site events, trips and camps.
Liaison with local schools and PTA to create a calendar of events
Organize and document all student recruitment activities year round.
Maintain and prepare reports of fiscal data, including receipts, time sheets, material requests, evaluations, and attendance data weekly to the owners
Respond to inquiries from parents and students regarding program offerings, attendance, and registration procedures daily
Monitor workshop sessions. Review performance of instructors and provide suggestions, and assistance for improvement, as needed.
Check and respond to email and voicemail daily to ensure that program updates and communication are reviewed in a timely manner
Create and post a calendar of regular staff meetings. Document and file minutes of meetings.
Education and Experience
BA Required. Education/Youth Programming/Chid Development along with STEM Majors Desirable. Will consider candidate with an Associates Degree and 2-5 years experience in working in an after school setting.
1- 3 year experience working with elementary and middle school students. At least 1 year of supervision experience.
Planning,and organizational skills are a must. Must have exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment, multitask, take initiative and directions a must. Strong communication skills are required.
