It provide a full range of services to those with serious and persistent mental illness for whom prior modalities and interventions have been ineffective.
Provides health assessments and treatment to clients in the Assertive Community Treatment ( ACT ) program. Works as a member of an interdisciplinary team and collaborates with team members to implement and revise treatment plans. Advocates for and provides support and education to clients and their families. Works under moderate supervision.
Licensure: License and current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in NYS required. Valid drivers license may be required, as determined by operational/regional needs.
Education: Bachelor s degree in nursing from a state approved diploma program, OR, Associate's degree with at least one year of experience as a full-time staff nurse in a medical-surgical nursing area required. Master s degree in Psychiatric Nursing preferred.
Experience: For candidates with a Nursing Diploma, Associates Degree or Bachelor s Degree in Nursing, a minimum of two years of recent inpatient, outpatient or home care psychiatric experience required. For candidates with a Master s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing, a minimum of one year of experience in a mental health or home care psychiatric setting required. Bilingual skills may be required, as determined by operational needs.
